Responsibilities

Weatherford have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Customs Compliance professional to join the team as a Customs Compliance Coordinator at the Alten’s facility in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor customs compliance activities in respect of current HMRC legislation within Weatherford and implement corrective actions as necessary.

  • Carry out monthly audits of MSS reports and maintain records of such audits and share information with appropriate teams.

  • Receive, log and action any entry errors identified from monthly MSS reports and/or advised by Logistics team.

  • Ensure that all monthly statutory reporting requirements are carried out in a timely manner.

  • Participating and lead in continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Participate and assist in any audits as necessary, both internal and external.

  • Participate in meetings / discussions with various internal departments to ensure suitable arrangements are in place for all Weatherford shipments locally, nationally and internationally.

  • Monitor company deferment account, ensuring any C18 payments are reconciled, provide information as necessary.

  • Monitor incoming correspondence from HMRC in respect of C18’s ensuring payments are arranged where necessary.

  • Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management with the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfil these.

Qualifications

Required

  • Previous oilfield, logistics and or customs/experience (2-3 years preferred).

  • Prior working experience of Customs Procedures and Regulations

  • Prior working experience of Logistics Processes and Procedures

  • Trade-related / cross border experience

  • Must have goods organisation skills and be able to work within strict deadlines.

  • Must be accurate, with an eye for detail and have good communication skills

  • The ability to work in a team environment as well as an ability to work unsupervised.

  • The initiative to resolve and advise on Logistics and Trade Compliance related issues.

  • Demonstrable previous experience in Trade Compliance or related field

    Preferred

  • Strong Quality Assurance experience – with a focus on Oil and Gas Service Industry

  • Well organised and able to manage multiple concurrent tasks.

  • Training experience with;

  • Incoterms training

  • Training on export/import procedures.

  • International trade experience
