REPORTS TO: Senior Catering Sales Manager

FLSA STATUS: Salaried, Exempt

The Broward County Convention Center is undergoing an exciting time of change and growth with new shows booking and a +$1bn expansion nearing completion in 2025 – this includes a new HQ Hotel, currently the largest ballroom in SE USA, multiple meetings rooms, exhibition hall and a brand-new kitchen leading to a total 1.2 m sqft (under roof) of LEED Gold-certified space across the campus.

The Savor F&B team has a need for a dynamic and experienced Catering Sales Manager, to grow with the facility, with responsibilities for Catering Sales for conventions, consumer shows and social catering.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Client interfacing

  • Work with clients to understand their needs.

  • advise on standard menu selections OR work with culinary teams if special menus are required (including dietary needs) Create BEOs and invoices.

  • Ensure payments and guarantees are solidified before events begin.

  • Works with client and in-house teams to plan event setups/breakdowns including: Event management: physical room sets.

  • Stewarding: equipment and food delivery Bars: availability of product, equipment, and staff ​​

Planning:

  • Attend departmental BEO and planning meetings as required.

  • Attend building wide meetings as required.

  • Work with other departments including, but not limited to, Building Sales and Event Services.

During Event:

  • Be onsite and available to the client during their event.

  • Assist and communicate changes to other departments in an expeditious manner.

  • Maintain consumptions and invoice updates and review with client daily.

Post Event:

  • Ensure all BEOs/consumptions/final invoices are completed within 72hrs after the event concludes.

  • Communicate with client to ensure any outstanding questions/concerns are resolved.

  • File appropriate documentation/reports to help future planning efforts.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

    Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate’s degree Three plus years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum three years of management experience in a food and beverage facility servicing concessions, catering, and special events, or a similar venue.​

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong orientation to customer service and ability to collaborate with other staff members in the facility.

  • Results oriented individual with the ability to meet required budgetary goals.

  • Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and inter-personal skills.

  • Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.

  • Strong written, verbal, and people skills.

  • Communicates efficiently and effectively. (Bilingual – English/Spanish – a plus)Demonstrated ability to control costs.

  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Work Conditions:

  • Works throughout the building. Subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight.

  • Substantial walking and manual dexterity to operate equipment is required.
