Job Description:

This role requires an experienced electronics technician with an RF background. This position will utilize your electronics skills to test and troubleshoot high performance receivers and transmitters used in critical US space programs. These space RF units require an electronics technician to lead alignment, test, and troubleshooting, and you will get exposure to the RF engineering design staff to support execution of your work. In this role you will work from engineering drawings, written test procedures, and process specifications. As a critical member of the team, you will apply your craft to electrically test assemblies for functionality and workmanship screening.

Essential Functions:

  • Set up test benches per diagrams and schematics.

  • Follow appropriate test equipment / safety procedures.

  • Complete datasheets and review test data. Compile data packs with delivery finished products.

  • Maintain status of assigned program(s) while ensuring documentation is accurate.

  • Troubleshoot test failures with the use of schematics.

  • Maintain equipment at workstations. Ensure Equipment is in calibration

  • Conduct environmental testing of products, including use of thermal chambers and support vibration testing events.

  • Work across functions on new product development and continuous improvement.

    Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience OR 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

  • Experience with RF and training in use of test equipment.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Able to move assemblies from one manufacturing area to another within the building.

  • Able to push standard production carts in the hallway from various manufacturing areas.

  • Able to pass binocular vision test and pass J-STD-001 soldering certification.

    Preferred Additional Skills

  • Prior experience following test procedures and test diagrams.

  • Prior experience using analog and digital troubleshooting skills to problem-solve.

  • Knowledge of the operation of power supplies.

  • Experience working on DMM and generators.

  • Prior experience working with Spectrum Analyzers and Network Analyzers.

  • Prior experience communicating with customers and across multiple disciplines within an organization.

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Strong communication oral communication

  • RF amplifier tuning experience
