Job Description

The primary objective of this position is to supervise the Payroll Benefits and Scanning and Indexing sections of the Payroll Office; reconcile and disburse all payments and deductions relating to Payroll Benefits. Ensure all Benefit related reconciliations are completed timely and accurately each month; ensure accurate disbursements to third party vendors; ensure health care benefit and other related benefit records are updated and maintained accurately. Research and resolve all related problems and discrepancies. Ensure all Payroll Benefits are keyed accurately in Banner

Working knowledge of automated payroll systems. Working knowledge of reconciling accounts.

Working knowledge of payroll policies and procedures. Working knowledge of State retirement, health care and flexible spending benefits. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel and Word. Demonstrated ability to perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines.

Overtime may be required during peak periods.

This position is designated as sensitive. A fingerprint-based criminal history check will be required of the final candidate.
