Opportunity to provide career growth DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Located in the Ninth & Jefferson building across from Harborview Medical Center, the Foot & Ankle Center at Harborview provides consultation and surgical treatment for complex foot and ankle reconstruction, including arthritis, deformities, genetic anomalies, sports injuries and traumatic injury. We also offer podiatry services and non-surgical treatments. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and prioritize incoming referrals from multiple sources using their knowledge of each physician’s specialized skill set
Triage incoming referrals to assure the appropriate specialist will be reviewing referrals
Handle intake of each referral requests, ensuring complete information is received and entered into the electronic medical record system in a timely manner
Schedule initial patient appointments either in person or via Telemedicine based on provider and patient preference
Coordinates appointments for the patient at the appropriate facility and assists with urgent insurance authorization or financial assistance
Manage and resolve a high volume of phone inquiries and messages
Review appointment follow-up requirements and expectations with patients. Educate them to ensure adequate understanding of the purpose of each appointment and follow-up recommendations
Offer financial assistance to self-pay and underinsured patients. Provide them with the necessary steps to apply for financial counseling
Serve as a primary program contact to other departments, patients, providers outside facilities REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty
Three years of Patient Support Service experience OR
